How do I make content accessible?

Our focus is on enhancing user experience for everyone, including those with visual impairments or using screen readers.

Logo Quality and Resolution:

  • Ensure that logos used on the website are of high quality and resolution. Avoid using stretched or poor-quality logos, as they can impact accessibility.

  • An example of a good logo quality:

    • Max Width: 450 pixels.

    • Max Height: 225 pixels.

    • Min Resolution: 300 DPI for clear projection.

    • File Formats: SVG, PNG (preferred for transparency), JPEG for high quality.

    • Max File Size: 1 MB.

    • Keep original aspect ratio; avoid stretching.

    • Use transparent background (or white if not available).

    • Follow client's brand guidelines.

Make sure image descriptions are added using Alt Text:

  • Use our rich text editor to add descriptive text (alt text) to every image. This is essential for screen reader users and improves accessibility for those with visual impairments. The editor allows you to easily input and edit alt text.

  • Here's is where the rich text editor's image alt text function is. Click on your image first.

  • Then add text that describes the image

Text Formatting and Structure:

This applies to the Survey Design page where the Login, Welcome, Thank you pages are added. It also applies to the email design and Descriptive Content questions (used in the Survey Builder to explain the next set of questions)

Utilise the rich text editor to format text correctly for screen readers.

Key points include:

  • Utilise heading styles (H1, H2, H3, etc.) to structure your content. This helps screen reader users navigate through the document easily.

  • Start with H1 for the main title, followed by H2 for subheadings, and so on.. Our rich text editor allows for easy text formatting adjustments.- for example

  • Ensure proper orientation of headings and text. Place related text underneath headings as paragraph text using the editor.

Consistent Use of Headings:

  • Our rich text editor facilitates the consistent use of headings, ensuring logical content structure. This aids in orienting the user and enhancing the comprehensibility of your content.

Transcripts and Captions for Multimedia:

  • For videos or audio recordings, always provide transcripts and captions. This inclusion is vital for individuals with hearing impairments and benefits those who prefer reading over listening. Transcripts and captions ensure that everyone can effectively access and understand your multimedia content.
