Action Planning: what's new?

Setting out what's new in the updated, Prism-enabled, action centre

Updated today

As part of the broader Action Centre upgrade, we’re introducing a number of improvements to Action Planning in November 2025 - including the addition of Prism.

Prism is designed to help you gain deeper insight in less time, suggesting and refining actions so you can focus on what matters most: taking meaningful action.

But Prism isn’t the only enhancement. The update also brings:

  • A modernised, full-screen interface.

  • Easier filtering across dashboards.

  • New collaboration tools, including comments and activity tracking.

  • Smarter tagging and grouping for actions.

Before the end of the year, Prism will also come to Action Insights, helping you see how your actions are driving measurable change.

1. πŸ’₯ Prism enabled

The new Action Centre introduces AI-powered action planning through Prism Suggests and Prism improving and enhancing your own manually entered actions.

If you have Prism enabled, when you first visit the new action planning, you’ll now see three real-time, Prism-generated suggestions

  • Quick win – a small, fast improvement.

  • Long-term fix – a sustainable, strategic action.

  • Cross-team action – collaboration across departments.

You can:

  • Insert any suggestion into your plan,

  • Edit or regenerate it, or

  • Browse additional inspirations for similar themes.

πŸ” Prism's suggestions are context-aware, drawing on question scores, themes, and related comments to make actions relevant and realistic.

2. A unified view across dashboards

You can now choose how you view your actions:

  • Dashboard view – see actions linked to a specific survey dashboard.

  • All dashboards view – see all your actions together, regardless of where they were created.

When viewing from a dashboard, you can toggle between:

  • View actions from this dashboard only

  • View actions from all dashboards

This makes it easier to manage workload across multiple surveys, without losing the ability to drill down into individual dashboards.

πŸ’‘ When viewing all dashboards together, filters such as hierarchy or demographics are automatically hidden, since they only apply within a single dashboard.

3. A fresh, modern interface

The Action Centre has been completely redesigned for better usability and accessibility:

  • Card-based layout: Each action appears as a clear, interactive tile showing title, theme, owner, status, and due date.

  • Grid-view: Actions appears as a clear, interactive table

  • Status colour tags: Instantly see which actions are Not started, In progress, or Completed.

  • Inline filters: Filter by owner, date, or dashboard directly in the interface.

4. Collaboration and tracking enhancements

Action management is now more transparent and collaborative:

  • Comments and updates: Add comments directly to an action to share progress or context.

  • Activity tracking: See a clear history of changes and updates.

  • Tags: Actions can now be grouped automatically by theme or labelled with custom tags.

  • Excel export: Download your actions (with filters applied) to share or report externally.

These improvements help teams stay aligned and make it easy to demonstrate visible progress over time.

5. Linking actions to survey questions

Each action can still be linked directly to a survey question or theme.

This allows you to:

  • Track which survey results inspired each action, and

  • Measure the impact of actions on future survey scores.

This link makes it possible to use Action Impact Analysis (available on request using Prism) to quantify how much your actions have moved key metrics.

6. Optional rollout

The new Action Centre is available as an opt-in experience.

You can toggle between the classic and new interfaces at any time while you explore the new features.
