Exported Data: Rounding

Excel shows detailed decimals; on-screen/PDF rounds to whole numbers.

When exporting data from our system, it's important to note the different formats used in Excel exports versus on-screen displays and PDF exports:

  1. Excel Exports:

    • The data is exported with detailed precision, showing values to more than ten decimal places.

    • This high level of detail is ideal for in-depth analysis in Excel.

    • Example: An exported value of 79.5454545454545% in Excel remains unrounded.

  2. On-Screen and PDF export :

    • Percentages are rounded to whole numbers for easier reading and clarity.

    • This rounding is for display purposes only and does not affect the underlying detailed data.

    • Example: The same value of 79.5454545454545% from Excel would be rounded up to 80% in the dashboard and PDFs.

  3. Interpreting Differences:

    • When comparing values, consider the rounding applied in on-screen and PDF displays.

    • Example: An overall score of 72.3374827109267% in Excel is shown as 72% in the dashboard and PDFs.

    • When calculating the difference between two percentages, use the detailed Excel figures for accuracy.

    • Example: The difference between 79.5454545454545% and 72.3374827109267% is 7.21%, which would be rounded down to 7% for display purposes.
