Deleting a panel file
Updated over a week ago

You can delete a panel file within the 'Manage Panel' section in the 'Panel Tab'. Click on the 'delete your panel button' in the top right of the section:

This will trigger a confirmation popup which requires that you type 'DELETE' into the field. This is a safety mechanism to ensure that a panel file is not deleted accidentally:

PLEASE NOTE: You should never delete a panel file within a live survey or on a survey which has been completed. Doing so will erase all participant responses from the system.

The delete function is usually used to remove a test panel file during the survey set up and testing process before going live. If in any doubt at all, please contact your People Insight project manager.

Delete imported variables after a panel delete

If you delete a panel file after testing is completed, it is always best practice to delete any variables that were imported in the test panel file. You can do this in the 'structure tab', just right click on the variable and select 'delete'

New feature coming soon: in the next software release, as an extra level of security, we are adding new functionality which prevents users being able to delete a panel file whilst a survey is live.
