What is a comparison page?
Our Comparisons page analyses how survey findings vary across different demographics. When comparing results, the Heatmap will illustrate the distinction between the overall score and the score specific to your selected demographic group. Green is a positive change and Red is not. You also have the flexibility to view comparison data as either a delta or an absolute format within the table.
Historic comparator
The historic comparator allows you to view how your survey did compared to past surveys. For example, if you wanted to run an employee engagement survey every year, this heat map will show areas of improvement (seen in green) and areas that have backstepped (seen in red) compared to previous surveys.
This heatmap is beneficial to analysing annual development, and celebrating the improvements and allows you to break the data down to focus on the details that provide a clear view of what needs to be actioned.
Combined comparator
The Combined Comparator feature helps you assess your current survey results alongside historical data, all in one view. This allows you to quickly spot improvements, declines, or areas that have remained stable over time.
Each cell in the Combined Comparator view displays two layers of insight:
Top half: Current survey result
Bottom half: Historical context (either a delta or past score)
Colour shading provides additional visual cues, as follows the same rules and the other view
Green indicates improvement
Red indicates decline
Grey indicates no change
There are four Combined Comparator options, accessible via the dropdown menu:
1. Combined: Current % (historical delta)
Top: Current percentage score
Bottom: Change (delta) compared to the previous survey
Best for understanding current performance with directional trend
2. Combined: Current % (historical % score)
Top: Current percentage score
Bottom: Previous percentage score from the last survey
Best for directly comparing scores across time
3. Combined: Current delta (historical delta)
Top: Current delta (how much the score has changed since the last survey)
Bottom: Historical delta (how much it had changed in the previous cycle)
Best for spotting momentum — are scores improving more or less than before?
4. Combined: Current delta (historical % score)
Top: Current delta
Bottom: Historical score
Best for seeing how much change occurred and where it came from

💡 Tip
Use Combined: Current % (historical delta) as your starting point for balanced insight into present performance and recent change. Then switch views to explore trends, consistency, or historical baselines more deeply.
