Single Sign-On (SSO) with Microsoft 365 and Google

An overview of how SSO works with our platform.

Updated over 3 months ago

Our platform supports Single Sign-On (SSO) using both Microsoft 365 and Google for seamless and secure access. This feature is available for authentication on both our platform and dashboards, ensuring an easy and streamlined login experience.

What is SSO and Why Do We Use It?

SSO with Microsoft 365 and Google allows you to authenticate and log in using your existing account credentials from these services. This means you don't need to remember yet another username and password, and you benefit from the security measures of these trusted providers.

By using SSO, we verify your identity (authentication) through your chosen provider. This method ensures that the user accessing our platform is indeed who they claim to be. Importantly, because you’ve already authenticated through Microsoft 365 or Google, we don’t need to ask you to complete additional Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on our platform—you’re already securely logged in.

User Management and Access Control

While SSO handles authentication (confirming who you are), our internal user management system controls authorisation (what you are allowed to see or do on the platform).

To use either Microsoft 365 or Google SSO, the following must be in place:

  • You must already be a user in our system. This could mean you are either a platform user, a dashboard user, or both.

Once authenticated, our system determines your level of access based on your user role. For example, our user management system ensures that:

  • You see the correct filters on a dashboard.

  • You can build surveys if that’s within your permissions.

In other words, while SSO lets you log in securely, our system handles what you can do or see within the platform.

How to Use SSO on Our Platform

When logging in, simply choose to sign in with Microsoft 365 or Google, and follow the prompts to authenticate using your existing credentials. Once authenticated, you will be directed to the platform or dashboard with the appropriate permissions automatically applied.

If you encounter any issues with SSO or need further assistance, please contact our support team.

By enabling SSO with these trusted providers, we aim to deliver a secure and seamless login experience while ensuring robust access control through our user management system.
