Interpreting your leavers survey

Interpreting your leavers survey data using your leavers survey dashboard

Updated over 2 months ago

Home Page Overview

Your home page displays key headline data, and allows you to compare results for the current period with any other period. To do this, select the appropriate period in the “Compared with” drop down menu at the top of the page.

Advocacy Score

The Advocacy score is one of the key metrics in this survey. It is calculated by averaging the favourable score from 2 questions:

  • “I would consider employment here again in the future”

  • “If asked, I would recommend to friends and family that this is a good place to work”

These questions are rated on a five point scale from strongly agree to strongly disagree. The favourable score combines the strongly agree and agree responses.

Key Drivers of Advocacy

Direct actions to increase advocacy are challenging to implement. Therefore, the data has been analysed to identify “Key drivers” of advocacy – questions from the survey that show the closest relationship to advocacy through correlation analysis. Improving these key drivers offers the best opportunity to enhance advocacy.

Prism Analysis

The prism analysis summarises the free text data shared within the survey. It provides insights into why people are leaving and what can be done to prevent future departures.

Theme Headlines

The theme headlines present results for the four main sections of the survey:

  1. Your overall Experience: contains just one question: “I have enjoyed my employment here” with the favourable score indicating the percentage of people who have enjoyed their employment here.

  2. Influences: These statements list potential reasons for leaving, asking the respondent to rate the extent to which each “influence” affected their decision to stay or leave. Note that these questions have a different scale. The influence with the highest unfavourable score had the biggest influence on the decision to leave.

  3. Your time here: contains ten questions exploring employees’ experiences, rated on a five point scale from strongly agree to strongly disagree.

  4. Advocacy: contains the two questions mentioned earlier – “I would consider employment here again in the future”, and “I would recommend to friends and family that this is a good place to work”

When you click on a theme, the display will shift to show the questions within that theme. Additionally, hovering over the favourability bar will display the scale used for the question.

All questions are also displayed on the Scorecard Report and can be sorted by clicking on any of the column headers.

Comparator Strengths and Weaknesses

At the bottom of the Home page, if a comparator period is selected, you can see the questions which have changed the most over time.
