Influential demographics on a survey score

Updated over a week ago

What is spread functionality?

The spread function on your People Insight dashboard shows you which demographic has the biggest influence on the score for a question or theme. Results are shown by the widest spread first so you can see the demographic with the biggest impact on the score.

A spread of 0 would mean that scores are consistent across demographic groups. In other words, everyone feels similarly about this survey item.

In the example below we are looking at results for the Reward theme. When we look into this by demographic, we see that “Team” has the widest spread and therefore the biggest influence on this survey theme. In other words, the team that you are in affects how positively you feel about Reward and recognition.

Using spread functionality

To see how scores vary by demographic, first click on any survey question or theme. This will bring up a detailed breakdown of responses, including the demographic spread.

Expand a demographic to see how results vary. Remember, results are shown by the widest spread first to identify the demographic with the biggest impact on this item’s score.
