Enable and view employee hierarchies

Updated over a week ago

With manager view enabled you can use employee hierarchies to quickly see the relationships within a line manager structure of your organisation.

You can also use it to explore the survey results of everybody within specified reporting lines. If the employee hierarchies are activated on your dashboard, you will see this option in the ‘Apply filters’ menu (orange tab on the right).

Applying employee hierarchies

By default, when you log in to your survey results dashboard you will see data at your local view.

To change your dashboard view, expand the ‘Apply filters’ menu and select another colleague from the ‘Employee hierarchy’ dropdown to view their results. The number (n) next to each colleague shows the number of responses.

Once applied, your dashboard view will refresh to confirm whose results you are viewing.

Please note that you can only apply one selection at a time from the employee hierarchy.

Returning to your local view

Expand the ‘Apply filters’ menu and remove the ‘Employee hierarchy’ selection to return to your local view.

Viewing data for your direct reports

If your dashboard uses a manager-based hierarchy, you can choose to view the responses from your direct reports only.

Expand the ‘Employee hierarchy’ menu and select “View data for direct reports only”. This will refresh your dashboard to show responses from only these people.

Viewing another user's action plan

If action planning is enabled on your dashboard, the employee hierarchy feature also allows you to check in on the action planning progress of other users. You might want to see how your team’s action plans are progressing or whether anyone needs more support.

Expand the ‘Employee hierarchy’ menu and choose which user’s results to view.

Then head to ‘Action centre’ and ‘Action planning’ to see how their action plan is coming along.

Comparing survey results

When using the employee hierarchy to view your survey results, any historical comparisons you apply will show comparisons between the level in the hierarchy you are viewing (e.g., your own level) and the overall results from the historical survey you have selected as a comparator.

More detailed historic comparisons from one variable to another are available via the filters feature or the organogram hierarchy where this is enabled.
