Multi-choice questions allow survey respondents to choose from multiple options to answer a question. Multi-choice questions differ from 'survey specific variable questions' in that you cannot use them to split data in the results dashboard. This option will present the results for your multi-choice question as a chart or table on your survey results dashboard.
Adding a multi-choice question with multiple answers
Do this in the Structure tab of your survey: right click on the reporting section (theme) where you require the question and choose ‘Add multi-choice question’ from the list.
Add your question text at the top and then use the 'add answer options' button to add your response options, next toggle ‘Allow multiple answers’ to the 'on' position. This will allow the participant to select more than one answer (e.g. select from the following list which benefits you appreciate the most)
Once your survey results dashboard is set up, you will see a ‘Multiple Choice’ tab in the top menu. Here, you can see a breakdown of responses to your multi-choice question/s as a chart or table. This shows how many responses, the percentage of responses for each option, and a breakdown of responses by demographic.
Adding a multi-choice question with one answer
Add the multi-choice question as above but this time toggle ‘Allow multiple answers’ to the 'off' position. This will allow the participant to select only one response. (e.g. select from the following list which benefit you appreciate the most).
You can also toggle on the options below and the system will add that option to the question.
You can test your multiple choice question is working as expected by reviewing the survey in preview mode:
