Create or add a Global Variable Question

Updated over a week ago

A Global Variable question is a question which asks a respondent to select one option for a question such as “How long have you worked here?”. You can choose a Global Variable question from People Insight’s Client Library, or create your own.

Adding an existing Global Variable question

To add a Global Variable question to your questionnaire, go to the ‘Structure’ section of the People Insight Platform.

First add a reporting section, for example, “About You”. Click “Add and Close”.

Once you have added your reporting section, select it and click “Add survey item”. Choose “Global variable question” from the dropdown list.

The People Insight pre-written questions live in the Client Library. You can choose one of these to add to your survey.

Create a Global Variable question

To add your own variable question with your own options and wording, you can create one under ‘Survey-specific variable question.”
