Overview

The IP restriction feature allows you to enhance the security of your surveys or dashboards by limiting access to specific IP addresses. This means that only users accessing from the approved IP addresses will be able to view or interact with the designated dashboards or surveys.

What is an IP Address?

An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a unique string of numbers separated by periods or colons that identifies each device using the internet or a local network. It acts like a postal address for your device, ensuring that data sent over the internet reaches the correct destination. For example, a typical IPv4 address might look like 192.168.1.1.

Key Points:

  • Enhanced Security: Restricting access based on IP addresses adds an extra layer of security, ensuring that only authorised users within your specified network can access your data.

  • Control Over Accessibility: You have the power to decide who can access your surveys or dashboards by allowing only traffic from trusted IP addresses.

How It Works:

  • People Insight Administrators only: This feature is available to be enabled by a People Insight administrator.

  • Contact Support: If you would like to enable IP restrictions on your surveys or dashboards, please reach out to our Support team. They will assist you in configuring this feature according to your requirements.

By utilising the IP restriction feature, you can significantly reduce the risk of unauthorised access to your sensitive data.
